Tributes poured in after TV presenter Aiden Kennedy dies at 43

Tributes have been paid to TV presenter and journalist Aidan Kennedy, who has died at the age of 43 following a terminal illness.

Hours after her death she posted on social media that she was receiving palliative care.

Writing on Twitter on Friday, she asked her followers to “keep an eye out” for her kids, Jacob and Eva, whom she described as “the kindest, sweetest most considerate kiddies.”

She posted a picture of the youth along with a picture of a card made for them, which read: “For mommy, I hope you get well soon. I love you so much.”

Several of his former colleagues at UTV paid tribute to him.

A spokesman for the channel said in a statement: “The UTV family is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former colleague and friend Aiden Kennedy.

“A truly talented reporter, she spent many years at UTV bringing audience stories from across Northern Ireland.

“We would like to express our heartfelt condolences to his family at this sad time.”

His older brother Rory was killed in a road accident when he was just one year old.

Kennedy said in the interview: “My mother Maura and dad Noel are the strongest and sweetest people I know. My mother is a teacher and my father is originally from Argentina, children have always been at the forefront of the nature of our family. Huh.

“We are very people-oriented as a family. We were a very close family and we did a lot together.”
