Many people recommend not giving more importance to the old and deeply Christian part of the country, rural America. The part of Lowa in rural America is a fundamental part of the politics in the USA.
However, Trump has done his thing by watching the rural part of America. His thinking says that 26 thinly populated states and 87 million people, about a quarter of the population of the USA, cannot be forgotten. Rural America’s votes are one reason for Trump becoming the President of America in 2016 without winning the popular votes.
Steven Conn, a historian, confirmed in a television interview that the demographic figures suggest that the people of Rural America have a habit of living in rural conditions, so people of rural America are suffering from “brain drought” because the young minds have all left that part of America and shifted to the city for a better lifestyle and a better opportunity. So, Rural America has a maximum population of older adults who have been living there for ages and are now built with the typical mentality of the village.
The people of rural America are angry because they cannot cope with the fast environmental changes. It could be in technology or other stuff.
According to Conn, Trump sees an opportunity and promises the people of rural America to make everything alright if elected.
In parts of rural America, there’s a myth that the U.S. army has been capturing the land of the native Americans with the help of the Settlement Act of 1862. This act says that about 4 million settlers and pioneers of America will benefit with 65 hectares of land per head. So, Conn says that these things will be erased from the minds of rural Americans, and they don’t need to worry about them.
The Reagan Family and the ‘New Deal.’
To fight against the great depression in 1929. Franklin D Roosevelt, the former president of the USA, passed a new deal that brought the Reagan Family back to the market, which had been bankrupt. The New Deal greatly benefited the Reagan family and the people of rural America. Conn says rural Americans don’t admit they benefitted from the New Deal.
Lowa was once a major agricultural hub of America. It is an industrialized state; Conn gives an example of the meat packing industry, which was situated in Chicago and other parts of the country in the 80s and 90s but is currently located in Lowa.
The workforce in these industries are immigrants. Many of such immigrants don’t have any papers. This issue is mostly faced by Rural America, where almost two-thirds of the workforce are immigrants. People of rural America are highly angry with such immigrants and urge the government.
