Former President Donald Trump’s media group Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) announced on Tuesday that it has entered into a technology and cloud services agreement with Canadian video platform Rumble.
As part of the deal, Rumble will provide video and streaming for TRUTH Social, a new social media app and platform that Trump announced in October.
“As part of our mission, TMTG continues to work with service providers who do not discriminate against political ideology,” the former president said in a statement. “Therefore, I chose Rumble Cloud as the critical backbone for the TMTG infrastructure.
“TMTG has already launched Truth Social on Rumble Cloud for invitees only and the initial beta launch went great. America is ready for TRUTH Social and for the end to abolish culture. “
TMTG and Rumble are also in talks to provide Rumble infrastructure and video delivery services for TMTG +, the company’s subscription-based streaming video service, which the release said.
“Rumble is delighted to provide TMTG technology and cloud services,” said Chris Pavlovsky, founder and CEO of Rumble, in a statement. “We continue to build the infrastructure to provide a free, open and neutral Internet.”
He added: “Rumble was designed to prevent the cancellation of culture, and we are at the forefront of a movement that believes everyone benefits from access to a neutral platform that holds different ideas and opinions.”
In October, TMTG announced a merger with Digital World Acquisition Corp, a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC), which will enable TMTG to go public with a combined valuation of $ 1.7 billion.
On December 1, Rumble announced that it will go public in 2022 as part of its SPAC deal with CF Acquisition Corp VI. The initial cost of the enterprise was set at $ 2.1 billion.
The TMTG announcement on Tuesday came just hours after Rumble announced it was ending its business relationship with Unruly Group and Tremor International, companies that Rumble said were “trying to censor” Dan Bongino’s conservative personality.
“Tremor’s attempt to censor Dan Bongino violated the core principles of Rumble,” Pavlovsky said in a statement. “Dark activists may not like what Dan Bongino says, but Rumble will always encourage open debate without taking sides. This is why Rumble decided to terminate the contract with Tremor. We will not tolerate politicized attempts to cancel authors. ”
