Turk Mohamed after booing Pumas players

Pumas hosted Tigres at the Estadio Olimpico Universitario and defeated the Cats 2-1 with goals from Gabriel Fernández and Juan Ignacio Dinenno in the BBVA MX League sixth-round game.

Despite his second tournament win, Antonio “Turco” Mohamed regretted that the players were booed by fans during the match, believing it hurt the squad’s mood and could distract them.

“It would be nice if people supported the players because they are ours until the end of the tournament or next year. If you want to boo at the end of the game, it’s like playing against your own team. It affects the performance of the team. It would be good if the boos were after the game so it doesn’t affect the mood, folks. “I have the right to complain if you don’t like a player or the DT, but in the 90 minutes, we’re all a team, the Mexican strategist said at a press conference.

On the other hand, Turco Mohamed analyzed the game and concluded that they lacked assertiveness. However, he made it clear that a rival like Tigres is not easy to beat.

“It was a game we sinned against again; we spent a lot of money to get the first goal. It wasn’t perfect because we conceded a goal, but it’s not easy to belittle an opponent like Tigres.” We are fine; we recovered from Tuesday, and now we have to rest and confirm this improvement. Our goal is to qualify, and on the way there, we have to find regularity; we have to deliver those performances away from home; that’s the next goal we have as a team.”
