Local sources said on Friday that two young men were killed and two others wounded when unidentified men fired machine guns around a soccer field in the Lazaro Cardenas neighborhood of Mexico state.

According to versions published on social networks, the attack was pre-planned and the criminals managed to escape despite the steepness of the roads in the area. No statement has come from the authorities so far.
The incident took place in the third block of the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood, on Club de Excursionista Amacitlali Street, on the corner with the Períferico del Panteón, in the area adjacent to the Sierra de Guadalupe, next to the Civil Pantheon of the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood.
The bodies of the dead were left lying on the street awaiting police experts, while the injured were treated by paramedics from Civil Protection and the Red Cross, after which they were transferred to a medical-aid center near the scene.
“It didn’t happen here, now the shooting spree happens more and more often,” announced a young woman playing football nearby and had to take refuge from the shooting.
Members of the Police Investigative Services went from place to place to conduct a thorough investigation. Local officials said that it is also learned that the age of the victims is around 20 years.
In the State of Mexico, there are an average of six homicides per month, with an average of 188 violent deaths and a figure of 2,257 last year, according to data from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP).
