UABCS to host event to promote science and technology through development of student projects Independent Newspaper

La Paz, Baja California Sur.- The Autonomous University of Baja California Sur (UABCS) will host the BCS Multimedia Project, a program of the Latin American Society of Science and Technology (SOLACT) that seeks to find the best talent in the categories of robotics Is. In an interview, Mr. Julio César Chávez Ocampo, professor-researcher of the Academic Department of Computer Systems of the UABCS and representative in the unit of the said organization, pointed to the importance of promoting science and technology through the development of competitions, Olympics and fairs, such as the project BCS Media.

He announced that students from preschool to high level can participate in this activity, forming teams of two members; Only in the case of the preschool level, there may be three.

He explained that each team must have one mentor over the age of 18, and can register in any of the eight categories. Among the criteria that will be taken into account during the exhibitions are the mastery and development of the subject, the focus of the project and the human side of the participants, although the arrangement of the decorative elements of the exhibition modules can also influence.

Finally, the best projects will be selected and bronze, silver and gold medals will be awarded to the winners. But most importantly, they will form the Southern Californian selective that will represent Baja California Sur in the Infomatrix Nacional, a science and technology competition based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, where students from different federal institutions participate.
