Uber is partnering with EVSE Australia to offer affordable chargers

Uber has partnered with EVSE Australia to offer affordable and accessible chargers to its travel partners. The goal of this partnership is to support the growing number of electric vehicles (EVs) on the Uber platform.

As part of this collaboration, Uber will offer its partner drivers discounts on home chargers, making the transition to electric vehicles smoother and more economical. This move brings Uber closer to its goal of becoming a fully electric, zero-emission travel platform by 2040.

To encourage its rideshare drivers to adopt electric vehicles, Uber has doubled its electric vehicle fleet, but specific numbers were not disclosed. This shows the company’s commitment to sustainability and reducing CO2 emissions.

By partnering with EVSE Australia, Uber driver-partners will have the opportunity to purchase electric vehicle chargers in two ways. You can opt for a one-time upfront payment and receive a 20% discount on hardware and a 10% discount on installation. Alternatively, they can choose to finance through Brighte with a flexible payment term of more than 12 months and an interest rate of 0%.

Additionally, partner drivers receive a 10% discount on accessories such as mobile chargers, which improve the overall charging experience when operating an electric vehicle on the Uber platform.

This initiative not only supports the increasing adoption of electric vehicles but also helps reduce transport emissions in Australia. By providing affordable and accessible chargers, Uber and EVSE Australia are enabling more drivers to switch to electric vehicles, promoting sustainability in the ride-sharing industry.
