Ukraine plans to create its own analogue of NATO, which will consist of countries-guarantors of its security. It is important that the largest and most effective NATO countries rally around Ukraine.
People’s Deputy, member of the negotiating group David Arakhamia told about this in his channel in Telegram.
“We want to make our own NATO. It is important for us that the largest and most effective NATO countries provide support in the event of aggression. Turkey is very important to us, it is the largest NATO army in Europe. The United States and Great Britain are also important. Very active consultations are going on now. It has already been officially announced that the three NATO member states are ready to provide guarantees in exactly the format I have described. This is actually Article 5 of NATO, but with a more stringent activation mechanism – within 72 hours they must consult and provide assistance. – he said.
David Arakhamia added that it is very important for Ukraine to receive guarantees from the US and Britain. The problem is that these states are likely to be among the last to join the safeguards.
— I think that the probability of the United States joining is high, because Mr. Blinken said the day before yesterday that they are not averse to considering security guarantees, but they want to get acquainted in more detail, weigh all the risks, etc. I have a feeling that the US and Britain will be one of the last to join together when they see that everyone doesn’t mind anymore. However, we have a minimum package of guarantor countries, and without them we simply will not move,” he concluded.
What is the situation in Nikolaev?
On the night of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a “special military operation” against Ukraine. Russian troops violated the Ukrainian state border. Explosions thundered in Nikolaev and other Ukrainian cities, and martial law was introduced to Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the war, Nikolaev has been on the defensive. The occupiers continue to shell the military infrastructure, residential buildings, and simply randomly shell the city. In particular, the invaders launched a missile attack on the barracks with Ukrainian defenders in Nikolaev.
The Russians tried to take Nikolaev into the ring, but to no avail. Ukrainian defenders almost every day repel the attacks of the occupiers. They liquidate columns of enemy equipment, shoot down Russian planes and capture the occupiers.
Today, the Russians are shelling Nikolaev from Kropyvnytskyi and Kherson from Grad and Smerch multiple launch rocket systems, including cluster munitions. The Russians fired on the state enterprise “Zorya” – “Mashproekt”, the hotel “Ingul”, a psychiatric hospital, damaged maritime infrastructure facilities – the Okean plant and the seaport.
There are injured and dead among the civilian population of the city. So, as a result of Russian shelling of Nikolaev, only on March 13, 9 people were killed.
After reinforcements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine arrived in Nikolaev, they made a number of successful attacks on the positions of Russian troops on March 10. The defense of Nikolaev successfully attacked the invaders in Chernobaevka, Kherson region, and now the column of Russian equipment has moved beyond the Dnieper. In just two days in the Nikolaev direction, Ukrainian defenders killed more than 200 invaders mobilized from the DPR, others refuse to take part in hostilities.
The successful actions of Ukrainian units in the Izyum and Nikolaev directions were noticed by the US Department of Defense. They came to the conclusion that the Armed Forces of Ukraine can go on a counteroffensive and are capable of “returning territories” temporarily occupied by the RF Armed Forces.
On March 24, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky awarded Nikolaev the title of Hero City.
As of the evening of March 27, fighting continues in the city of Snigirevka, Mykolaiv region. There is no electricity and communication, there are problems with the lack of water and food. A local volunteer also said that the Russian occupiers are looking for and kidnapping ATO veterans.
Those wishing to leave Snigirevka are driven by caring residents, the city needs an organized evacuation.
On the morning of March 29, Russian troops attacked the building of the Nikolaev Regional State Administration from the air. The blow occurred already when the employees of the Regional State Administration went to work.
