70% of those who died as a result of Israeli attacks against the Palestinian territory were women and children.
At least 300,000 children from Gaza have been displaced, following the latest violent escalation between Israel and Palestine which on Wednesday reached 12 days of continuous bombardment.

In this sense, the executive director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Catherine Russell, detailed in a statement on Tuesday that several hundred children from Gaza were injured, after the attacks on Al-Ahli hospital, located in Gaza.
“In just 11 days, hundreds of children have tragically lost their lives, not to mention those who died today (October 17), and thousands more were injured, and more than 300,000 children were lost their homes,” he said.
In the Al-Ahli medical center, which apart from housing the sick and the wounded, serves as a refuge for almost 4,000 displaced Palestinian civilians, it suffered a powerful explosion on Tuesday, causing a large fire and the death of about 500 people, according to other data from the Palestinian authorities.
“It highlights the deadly impact of this ongoing war on children and families,” said Russell, who also made an urgent call for an immediate end to attacks against civilian populations and facilities.
The representative of UNICEF described the attacks as “unacceptable” and stressed that the organization follows its call to end all hostilities, as well as guarantee security and access to humanitarian aid for children in the Gaza Strip.
