US: More building permits than expected and disappointing construction starts

(AOF) – In July 2022, there were 1.446 million new homes registered per year in the US. The Briefing.com consensus was 1.54 million, up from 1.599 million in June (revised 1.559 million). In addition, 1.674 million building permits were registered in July 2022 year on year. Consensus was at 1.647 million after June’s 1.696 million (revised figure of 1.685 million).
