US PSL rejects Biden’s call for war

Washington-. The presidential formula of the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) today rejects the plans of the president of the United States, Joe Biden, to spend 100 billion dollars to fuel conflicts in the world.

Claudia De la Cruz and Karina García, presidential and vice presidential candidates of the PSL in the 2024 elections, declared that the answer to Biden’s speech was “money for the people, not genocide against the Palestinians or the Third War of the World.”

De la Cruz considered the Democratic president’s words in his Thursday message to the nation from the Oval Office a “pathetic attempt to unite people behind an endless war for empire.”

It’s disgusting that Biden wants to invest another 100 billion dollars in the war machine – he emphasized – when people are hungry, can’t pay rent, can’t pay for child care and live on the brink of an environmental disaster .

“Workers have no interest in a war with Russia over Ukraine or China against Taiwan; only military contractors and Wall Street banks will benefit,” he warned.

He noted that “the genocidal attack on Gaza must not be funded by our tax dollars; All aid to Israel must cease immediately.

For his part, Garcia condemned the anti-Palestinian rhetoric of Biden’s speech as an admission that the Israelis “are not responsible for the horrific bombing of the hospital that killed more than 500 people.”

These lies, he stressed, are designed to justify the war crimes of the Zionist regime “and give Israel cover to commit more atrocities in the future.”

At the same time, De la Cruz expressed his rejection of “the whole imperial premise behind the speech,” Biden said in his speech that “American leadership is what holds the world together.”

He stated that with such statements, Biden “means that American banks and corporations should dominate the entire planet.”

But the interests of the poor and workers are not the same, therefore, unity is needed to oppose the American empire, he concluded.

Protests against Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian population have become a huge wave across the United States in recent days.

The previous day, thousands of people marched through the streets of New York towards the United Nations headquarters demanding a ‘Free Palestine’.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that on October 20, 4,218 people died and 13,400 were injured in the occupied territories since the start of this new aggression by Israel two weeks ago.
