USA authorizes potential sale of 24 C-130J-30 Super Hercules to Australia

through an official publication, The United States authorized the possible sale of the C-130J-30 Super Hercules transport aircraft to Australia, This follows from a recent notification issued by the State Department and respectively reported to the United States Congress for approval.

The information comes days after the Australian Ministry of Defense confirmed the official decision to renew its current fleet of C-130Js in service with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). The plan is given within the framework of the so-called AIR 7404 Phase 1 projectby which from the portfolio they expressed that they are “looking for”Fully featured, proven, mature and affordable certified replacement aircraft that meet Australia’s air mobility requirements. Project principles include lessons learned from past major defense acquisitions as well as the in-service experience of the current C-130J fleet,
