Since the establishment of the so-called Monroe Doctrine in 1823, the persistence and excessive ambition of North American imperialism to seize the people of the Americas, and especially of Cuba, has been ongoing for 200 years.
According to history, the “fake” expansionist document was drafted by John Quincy Adams, the sixth President of the United States, but attributed to James Monroe, the fifth President. Without going into many details of its contents, in brief, it was addressed to the European Powers with the statement that they would not tolerate any kind of meddling or interference from the said states in America; From then on he marked his expansionist and hegemonic interests: america for americans or better say, America for North Americans
The truth is that the matter is not that simple and there is “cloth to be cut”. When Cuba broke away from Spain, it was a “dear neighbor” with the doctrine of the so-called “ripe fruit” formulated by John Quincy because, according to his creed, it could not sustain itself and “what better support North American Federation “-
After a long history of rebellion and patriotism against puppet dictatorships, when the revolution triumphed, little did they imagine that the intended feast would end. Their desperation is not enough and they dream of subjugating the Cuban people and taking over our archipelago. Aggression, threats, sabotage, continuous attempts to assassinate Fidel and all kinds of tricks with a criminal blockade for more than 60 years, now intensified, and a media war that invades the network. But here we stand firm, children of this nation, with unparalleled resistance and valour.
In its vast majority, these same cities, which, among other disparate problems, suffer from this hostile policy with shortages of parts needed to run factories and industries, sustaining centers of basic food, drugs, production and services. Suffers the consequences, does not stop, and every day he battles head-on against the odds with choice, creativity, and a loyal attachment to work.
During all the assemblies and especially this year, the entire democratic and participatory process, amidst so many difficulties, has been a reliable proof of the Cuban people’s spirit towards their revolution and although inadequacies, erratic procedures, trust and credibility continue to be hurt. Most hug each other and believe in victory.
This May Day will reflect the same way, when all places in the region will be filled with joy, hope and commitments to join hands and hearts with the motherland. And the stubborn empire and its entourage will continue with futile striving for the “low-hanging fruit”, because no one will surrender here.
