Veeam Software announced the appointment of Shiv Pillay as the new CEO of Veeam and Senior Vice President of the Americas. From now on, the executive will be responsible for leading development and business operations across the region.
Previously, Pillay served as Veeam’s general manager and senior vice president of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), joining the company in 2018. During this time, he successfully led sales, channels, alliances and pre-sales across regions. Under his leadership, the Veeam APJ team has grown its market share in key regions while helping solve modern data management challenges for customers across the globe.
“Businesses face many challenges to keep their businesses running. It’s a far more complex IT environment that spans cloud, SaaS and on-premises resources. Along with this, the risk of cyber attacks is also increasing. Pillay has been working in the IT industry for over 15 years, working in a variety of areas including data protection, security, SaaS, and automation. Shiva has held senior leadership positions at RSA, EMC, SCE Group, Prevalent Inc., and SevOne. Based in Australia, the US and Singapore, he brings experience in revenue generation, sales, client retention, professional services, operations, channels and alliances with both regional and global capabilities.
Pillay currently works as a consultant to various emerging organizations in the United States and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Psychology from the University of Wollongong. He lives in Boston, Massachusetts.
