The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, assured this Monday that Venezuela has the best electoral system in the world with the National Electoral Council (CNE).
“This week we had the election of the new CNE after the days set out in our constitution had concluded with a nominating committee and each task completed. The new Rectors have been appointed and with them their President who is Elvis Amoroso. The PSUV will always comply with the regulations that the CNE issues on the election issue (…) We have always done that, it is the best National Electoral Council in the world,” said Cabello at a press conference.
The chairman of the Red Marquee emphasized that the PSUV would follow the election instructions.
“You can be assured that the United Socialist Party of Venezuela will always abide by the regulations made by this CNE regarding electoral issues. We’ve always done that,” he commented.
He also pointed out that the newly appointed team will take care of organizing the elections.
“The team that will be appointed will more than fulfill the responsibilities given to them and organize the elections that are now coming up. We don’t know when, whether they will be in October, November, December or January. The elections can take place. “We are subject to the new CNE directive at all times,” said Cabello.
He reiterated that his party is ready to hold elections next October if the National Electoral Council decides to do so.
“We are ready to go to the elections in October. If (the CNE) calls them November, we’re ready for November; for December when they proclaim them. They (the opposition) are not ready, they can say what they want.” “They want, but they are not ready. They’re not even ready to be ready. There is no agreement between them,” he said.
Cabello said, “The opposition would have to agree on a meeting and a dialogue between them to see if they can come to an agreement. Let’s get knocked down… We won’t get knocked down!”
