Veterquimica and the European company Huvepharma join hands to strengthen the health of ruminants in Chile

Veterquimica, a Chilean veterinary laboratory with more than 50 years of history in creating animal health, nutrition, and biosecurity, has entered into a new alliance with the pharmaceutical company HuevaPharma, which will give it a leading role in the ruminant sector in Chile. With this agreement, Veterquimica will distribute Parofor® Crypto solution, a unique molecule for the treatment and control of bovine cryptosporidiosis, a disease that currently has a high prevalence in calves, conditioning their productive life in the future.

The executive explained that the Bulgarian company has a long and established experience in Chile, offering solutions for monogastric and that today, together with Veterquimica, they want to develop the ruminant sector.

Being a European laboratory, we can meet the demanding requirements of the Service of Agriculture and Livestock (SAG) and we hope to be able to add more products in the future,” said Zecharias.

Parofor® Crypto is a molecule developed in Europe and is a leader in this market due to its high efficacy against Cryptosporidium parvum.

Recently in Chile, the Service of Agriculture and Livestock (SAG) granted registration of this product – SAG registration number 2573 – specifically for the treatment of bovine cryptosporidiosis.

In contrast to the molecule registered in Chile, this molecule is also registered against E. coli in Europe. For this reason, Veterquimica is working so that this indication is also accepted in our country in the future.

The product launch will take place today in Santiago, Tuesday the 16th in Los Angeles, and Wednesday the 17th in Osorno.

Regarding its importance, Luis Morales explained: “Cryptosporidium parvum parasite is an agent of great concern in dairies, and is the main cause of diarrhea in newborn calves, which directly affects the development of these future dairy cows. Although Cryptosporidium spp. There are few solutions on the market to control, we believe the country cannot do without this molecule, which is a leader in the European market and offers great returns to its users.

For this reason, Veterquimica hopes that this new tool will reduce the incidence and severity of diarrhea caused by the pathogen in lactating cattle, thus achieving healthier calves, better weight gain, and better animal welfare in production.
