Vitas adds new technical equipment to Almeria. Spanish hospital operator adds a new Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) to Vitas Almeria in its portfolio of Philips branded services. The investment for the start-up of this new equipment has not been disclosed.
This acquisition will allow accurate, comprehensive and in-depth assessment of cardiac function and structure. Currently, it is the only private hospital in Almería that offers this benefit.
Cardiac magnetic resonance is a technique used to study the anatomy, function and even cellular structure of the heart, as it allows to explore it non-invasively and without radiation. Today its utility is widely recognized for diagnosing patients with cardiomyopathy, heart failure, ischemic heart disease and cardiac arrhythmias. It covers practically all areas of cardiology, as it is able to provide very complete and detailed information on all the functions of the heart and its structures.
This new device will give the cardiologist important, safe and effective information about the patient as it can be studied completely, The addition is part of an ambitious plan to innovate diagnostic imaging technology that Vitas is developing across its network of hospitals and medical and care centers.

Vitas Almeria Hospital has trained specialist technicians in radiodiagnosis and expanded its team of cardiology professionals. The Andalusian center is comprised of doctors Raul Reyes and Miguel Matarín, both cardiologists specialized in diagnostic imaging, with extensive experience in cardiac resonance in particular.
