Last year the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) issued a total of 3,704,675 fines for speeding, according to a report by the European Motorist Association (AEA). These infractions represented 66 percent of all traffic complaints, which reached 5.54 million. Of the fines allowed for excessive speed, 2,580,121 were caught on speed cameras, while 1,124,554 were caught on speed cameras.
According to the AEA, this increase is largely due to the increase in the number of radars on the roads by the DGT, which has increased by almost 7 percent in the last year, according to the latest data from Coyote, driving assistant and radar detector.
How can we know if we are caught on radar? The most common way is by courier. By default, DGT will send the letter precisely to the offender’s email address.
Another option to find out if we are being searched by radar is to use the miDGT application. This application allows drivers to carry their license and vehicle documents on their mobile phone, and even if they have outstanding marks and also pay them.
In addition to postal mail, drivers can choose to receive multiple email notifications through the Electronic Road Directorate (DEV). However, it is necessary to register a digital or electronic DNI certificate in it.
Finally, the fines imposed by the DGT which cannot be notified at the offender’s address due to the absence or change of address in TESTRA, in the DGT electronic information board, and at the same time in the Unified Edictal Bulletin Board. Public official (TEU).
