Podemos will send a law in the Congress of Deputies so that the presenters of the most watched television programs of the media and directors are obliged to make a declaration of assets, the general secretary of the formation announced this Friday in Toledo, Ione Belarra.
The minister also promoted social rights as Podemos proposed to register a law in the next few days in the Lower House, in which the presenters of television programs with a larger audience and also the directors of the media in Spain must have. declare their financial interests, as public officials must do.
The approach is that they must present a declaration of assets, as parliamentarians and ministers must do, because according to Belarra: “It has already been shown in this country that there are journalists who present television programs who send more than the deputy or the deputy or the minister or the minister”.
It is for this very reason that “people have the right to know what the economic interests are”, Belarra is to be considered, who visited the neighborhood of Santa Maria de Benquerencia in Toledo this Friday, together with the United States Podemos candidate for the Presidency of Castile. -La Mancha in the regional elections on Sunday, Jose Luis GarcÃa Gascón.
To justify this initiative, Bellarra argued: “Recently in recent days we have seen how Ana Rosa Quintana, who presents one of the morning programs with the highest audience, has a great interest in real estate speculation, she has 44 tourist apartments that she does. .
“And here is a real estate speculator, dressed as a journalist, who lies to the Spaniards from the program for the first time, that the law encourages the occupation of housing,” said the minister and general secretary of Podemos.
Bellarra added: “Today we know that these lies are being told because it has speculative interests in real estate that have to be cut with the housing law,” because we really need a housing law that tips the balance in favor of tenants and favors. about people who have a mortgage.
In this sense, he defends the need to have a law on the characteristics proposed by Podemos, because in his opinion it is “a measure of transparency, of democracy, which is an essential right for our people. To more truthful information, which is contained in the Spanish Constitution”.
