Numantino manager Javi Moreno appeared today at a press conference ahead of the upcoming start of the league season. The Rojillo coach expects a “very competitive, intense, and direct game of football” in a stadium like La Albuera, whose pitch will not be in good condition, as the Gimnástica Segoviana coach himself has admitted in recent days.
For Javi Moreno: “The condition of the pitch cannot be an excuse, although we would have liked it to be in better condition. It will be a difficult scenario for both teams, in which it is important to prepare well for the game.”
The Numantino coach believes that after seven weeks of preparatory work, the team will go into the game with “great determination and enthusiasm”. “We leave with 18 footballers, and we leave with all the illusions in the world. “We’ve had a number of injured players throughout preseason and will continue like this until they’re all well,” he surmised.
Referring to Gimnástica Segoviana, next Sunday’s rivals, Javi Moreno stressed that “they keep 80 percent of last season’s starting block and are a very intense team that is worth considering,” emphasizing that the work of his counterpart in Segovia, Ramsés, highlighted Gil, a man with a long history at the Castilian club. “They are a very well-established team; they know each other perfectly, and the newcomers are very good footballers,” he added.
“We have to be practical vertically and be strong in the second games,” stressed Javi Moreno, who didn’t want to know anything about Wednesday’s game at the Helmántico, “because the first is immediate, and that’s Sunday in Segovia.”
