We all have a lot to thank for this year. The presence of the best fantasy football stars this week is not one of them.
Two of the top contenders for the LVI Super Bowl, the Kansas City chief and the Arizona Cardinals, are bidding farewell this week. So the stars are starting from Patrick Mahomes To Kyler Murray To Travis Kelsey and DeAndre Hopkins will spend time with their families while you spend time ignoring your families, looking for replacements on the rejection wire.
Thanksgiving’s three-match roster is also a challenge because it makes the return of injured high-profile players more bankrupt. The teams are unlikely to risk getting their fragile stars back in a short week, whether we’re talking about the return of Dallas. Ezekiel Elliott or the star of New Orleans Alvin Karama…
Is there anything you can find at the fantasy buffet to fill up the missing calories? Here are half a dozen potential customers that are probably still available in your league and could be hot meals in Week 12:
Devonta Freeman (Ravens RB) – The veteran stepped out of the hodgepodge that is Baltimore’s backfield to become the undisputed # 1. His yard totals aren’t that great, but he has TD in four of his last five games. Most likely he will do 5 out of 6 against Cleveland.
Rex Burkhead (Texans, RB) – Last week, Houston unexpectedly decided to give the former Patriot a top priority. He has raced 18 times in chagrin of Texans in Tennessee and could be in line for his first touchdown of the season on Sunday against the humble Jets.
Elijah Moore (Jets WR) “Speaking of the Jets, this rookie has proven to be New York’s most trusted fantasy option. He has four TDs in his last three games and makes 141 yards against Miami. He could have played just as well against Houston.
Marvin Jones (Jaguars WR) – He’s one of the biggest disappointments of the season with only 42 catches and three touchdowns. But Jacksonville has been doing better lately, and Atlanta’s defense hasn’t. Good candidate for late season revival.
Jimmy Garoppolo (49ers QB) – Last Sunday, the Vikings’ defense was mostly torn apart by Aaron Rogers in the second half, and the San Francisco attack is gaining momentum. Garappolo has two TDs in four games in a row and will likely be his fifth Sunday.
Trevor Simian (Saints QB) Believe it or not, former QB Northwest Platoon has been one of the best fantasy QBs in the last three weeks since Jamis Winston was replaced. Many of his stats were added during trash time, and there will be more against the Bills.
Indianapolis’s defenses have been pretty solid lately, which means Tom Brady and Chris Godwin perhaps the only pirates you should start this week. … well and Rob Gronkowski… … Carolina QB Cam newton will see his two-game streak as he threw and ran to complete a touchdown against Miami. … Cleveland Baker Mayfield doesn’t care what others think, but we think you shouldn’t start it against the Ravens. … Charging device Austin Ekeler Denver will be more difficult, so don’t expect four more TDs from him. … And we don’t expect much from the attacks on Lambo Field on Sunday, so you can take a short break before playing Green Bay. A.J. Dillon or Baranov Darrell Henderson…
If Detroit is finally going to win the game, which is possible, then RB D’Andre Swift will have to have a big Turkey Day. … Seattle QB Russell Wilson has been terrible since returning from injury but will regain some form against Washington. … Dallas, QB Duck Prescott spat in a rage after leaving without landing in Kansas City, so he bounced back from the drowning Raiders … Washington, RB Antonio Gibson and wide Terry McLaurin there will be big games against Seattle … the same goes for the tight end in Baltimore Mark Andrews against Cleveland. … And speaking of difficulties, look for the 49ers’ George Kittle look old versus what’s left of the Viking defense.
Chicago won’t Justin Fields as an advocate for Thanksgiving in Detroit, so Andy Dalton will return to the center. As for the lose-lose Lions, QB Jared Goff is said to “tend” to launch. … Also on Thursday, Dallas hopes to get WR Ceedee lamb from the concussion protocols in time to meet the Raiders. … Green Bay QB Aaron Rogers will be blocked due to toe injury and line depletion against Rams, although you should probably start it anyway. … Excluded players include Dallas WR Amari Cooper, Jacksonville wide Jamal Agnew, Seattle, RB Chris Carson and Philly RB Jordan Howard… … Among the dubious is San Fran RB Elijah Mitchell, Atlanta, RB Cordarrell Patterson, Titans WR A.J. Brown, Baltimore WR Marquise Brown, Cleveland (WR) Jarvis Landry, Chicago (WR) Darnell Mooney and Washington impasse Logan Thomas…
THE DEEPEST DREAMS
New York Jets need to replace the rookie running backwards Michael Carter at least for a couple of weeks due to the high sprain of the ankle ligaments. Who will it be? Or Tevin Coleman or Ty Johnson… One or both can be a factor in fantasy, especially with humble Houston Texans on the list this week. Coleman, who has just 118 yards this season, is likely to make the most attempts, and Johnson, who has three touchdowns this season, will be the main passing catcher. With Zach Wilson Returning to the JETS quarterback, we like Johnson the most about this 2-8 gigantic showdown.
