Week 8 The Loop Fantasy Football Report: Some Stars Played Poorly In The First Half

The NFL’s 17-game schedule is hitting midpoint next week, and it’s already clear that a high draft position this summer hasn’t been a boon.

Some of the biggest fantasy football stars like Christian McCaffrey, Dalvin Cook, Saquon Barkley and George Kittle have lost their relevance due to injuries. And the fantasy fans, who, as the “experts” advise, have chosen them as favorites, were once again reminded that you cannot believe everything you read on the Internet.

But it was even more painful to watch how previously outstanding players entered the starting arena, where they were inferior.

As we kick off week 8, here are the guys who, given their draft rating, were some of the biggest disappointments:

Stephon Diggs (Bills WR) – Our longtime favorite of the Vikings was the second receiver in the pre-season polls. But despite Buffalo’s strong start, Diggs has topped 100 yards only once, and has only two touchdowns in a season. He could use another Minnesota miracle.

Alvin Kamara (Saints RB) Sure, he had a Camara-style play on Monday night in Seattle with 30 touches for 179 yards and a touchdown. But by all accounts, there were only four points in the game. Decent numbers, but nothing like Derrick Henry of the Titans, who was ranked below him.

Miles Sanders (Eagles RB) Philadelphia’s # 1 defender was taken in the second round of most drafts, and those pickers are all out. Sanders has yet to hit a touchdown this season and has touched the ball just 82 times. And he’s hurt. Other than that, he was just great.

Miles Gaskin (Dolphins RB) – Another Miles was selected in the third round and was almost as impressive as his almost namesake. On Sunday, he played his best game against Atlanta with a total of 77 yards and a TD. But before that, he had done almost nothing for the disappointing Dolphins.

Calvin Ridley (Falcons WR) – Julio Jones’s successor as Atlanta’s No. 1 entered the season in fourth place. But so far, he has fought in only five games, has never gone over 80 yards in a single game, and only had two touchdowns in a season. Much more was expected.

Keenan Allen (WR Chargers) Disappointingly, the Chargers’ top receiver posted decent numbers, 39 hauls for 419 yards, but he only caught one TD pass from the precocious Justin Herbert. Not what anyone expected with their choice in the third round.

Robert Tonyan (Packers TE) – We told you that last year’s surprise at Green Bay will not repeat his 11 touchdowns. But come on! Only 15 traps and two touchdowns in the first seven games. Now that so many of his Packers teammates have been relegated to the background, things can get more stressful for him.

Trevor Lawrence (Jaguars QB) – No one expected Patrick Mahomes’ tier numbers from the No. 1 pick in Jacksonville. But they also didn’t expect him to be among the lowest-rated passers in the league, averaging just over one TD and 200 yards per game. The days of his Clemson glory seem far, far away.

Sitting stars
The most spectacular newcomer to defense this season is undoubtedly Stefon’s brother. Trevon Diggs… It won’t help the Vikings. Justin Jefferson on Sunday evening. … New Orleans, QB Jamis Winston there might be a goodbye replacement option, but not this week against the Buccaneers. … The same is with the rapidly aging Ben Rotlisberger against Cleveland. … Washington RB Antonio Gibson will again be capped this week against Denver. … And there is no New York Jets you should consider versus the Bengals, and only one Houston Texan (WR Brandin cooks) against battering rams.

MATCHUP GAME
Cowboy owner Jerry Jones says he likes QB Duck Prescott start against the Vikings, and that’s enough for us. … The dynamic duo of Cincinnati Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase will score points on the Jets. … Giants QB Daniel Jones will be the last one to take advantage of the protection of the chiefs. … Rams RB Darrell Henderson will recover from a slump in the week and go through Houston. … If he gets another start, get Cleveland RB D’Ernest Johnson in the lineup against Pittsburgh. … The best runner in Atlanta is the former Vikings receiver. Cordarrell Pattersonand he will make another strong attempt against Caroline. … And Billy must defeat the Dolphins again, and Buffalo WR will be among the beneficiaries of this discrepancy. Cole Beasley

SEE INJURIES
With Davante Adams and Allen Lazard on the COVID list, packers will pay a lot of attention Aaron Rogers‘ favourite, Randall Cobband maybe even a return Marquez Valdez-Scantling… … In Cleveland, RB Nick Chubb may come back but QB Baker Mayfield could watch Case Kinum again for another week. … Star of New Orleans Michael Thomas was expected this week, but won’t. … Denver (WR) Jerry Judynonetheless, it will be a welcome comeback for the Broncos. … A long list of dubious players this week includes the following pass catchers: Patriots team Johnny Smith, Washington Diy Brown and Curtis Samuel, Indie TY Hilton, Miami Devante Parker. Tampa Bay TE Rob Gronkowski and wide Antonio Brown, Giants Receivers Cadarius Tony and Kenny Golladay, Cleveland Jarvis Landry and Carolina Marshall Terrace.

THE DEEPEST DREAMS
Miles Sanders The injury means that this week he will become even more invisible to the Philadelphia fans. So housework will fall on Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott… This is the order in which desperate teams should consider qualifying for them in the Eagles against losing Detroit. After Sanders lost to Las Vegas, Gainwell had nine touches for 61 yards and a touchdown, while Scott had eight touches for 29 yards and a TD. Scott has a more substantial history: he scored five TDs in 2019, but only three since then.

CHOICE FOR THURSDAY
Packers at Cardinals (-5½):
Choose: Cardinals 7
