New Delhi: Controversy continues to increase across the country. WhatsApp is now flexible in the decision to update its privacy policy. The client’s WhatsApp account will not be deleted even after May 15. A spokesperson for the popular messaging app said this in an email to news agency PTI.
WhatsApp sends messages to customers to update their policies at the beginning of the year. This is where the dispute started. Many claim that the parent company will share personal information of customers with Facebook in the name of policy updates. Despite repeated intimations in that panic, many people did not update WhatsApp’s policy. The company has set deadlines several times.
May 15 was the last day of that period. Many feared that customers would lose their accounts after the deadline. However, a WhatsApp spokesperson said in an email to PTI. In an email reply, he said, “After May 15, the company will not delete the accounts of those who do not update the policy. We will send customer notifications about the policy update in a few more weeks.” A spokesperson said that most of the customers had already updated their policies. Many could not do so due to lack of time and opportunity.
Last January, WhatsApp sent a policy update notification for its customers. The company has set a policy update deadline of February 8 to use the messaging app. According to WhatsApp, customers will benefit even more after the policy update. Even his ‘integration’ with Facebook will work. However, the customers did not believe the company’s talk. He fears that WhatsApp will share customer information with Facebook.
The company opens its mouth with the same. According to the company, in the last few months, they have wanted to remove misinformation and confusion from the minds of customers. The company is still committed to protecting customers’ data and personal information. According to the central government, WhatsApp has a huge network in India. The number of users of this instant messaging app is 53 crore. In front of which it is almost impossible to compete with any other messaging app. Data shows that India is the second largest telecom network in the world. Facebook and WhatsApp have already created a large market share in the country.
