When Deepika was asked about being trolled for her choices of becoming a home maker and wearing Indian outfits, the actress said, “People are somehow unable to digest that in today’s time being a housewife, taking care of her family, not wearing makeup and wearing Indian dress can be a woman’s choice. For me, women empowerment is my graph of coming to Mumbai and building a successful career for myself with the support of my families.
