White floating pollutants found in Pfizer vaccines in multiple cities in Japan: official

Officials said on Tuesday that foreign bodies were found in five unused Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine bottles near Tokyo, Japan, and a bottle in Osaka Prefecture.

According to Kyodo News, Sagamihara, Kamakura and Sakai said that these vials containing white floats belong to the same Pfizer vaccine batch. They asked Pfizer to review the substance in the vial.

Officials told Kyodo News that pollutants were found at several locations in Sagamihara, a location in Kamakura, and a location in Sakai this week. Pfizer’s batch number was officially identified as FF5357.

They said they did not use Pfizer doses that contained foreign matter.

According to the “Mainichi Shimbun” report, Pfizer Japan officials said at a news conference on Wednesday that the matter may be an ingredient that has not yet been completely dissolved. The company said that this will not affect the quality or safety of the vaccine. The Epoch Times has contacted the company for comments.

A few weeks ago, Japan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare suspended 1.63 million doses of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine due to pollution. A few weeks later, government officials confirmed in early September that three people had died after receiving the suspended batch of Moderna vaccine, which uses mRNA technology similar to Pfizer.

A later investigation revealed that stainless steel particles contaminated the Moderna dose. The two companies traced it back to a production site in Spain.

“Stainless steel is commonly used for heart valves, joint replacements, metal sutures and staples. Therefore, it is expected that the injection of particles found in these batches in Japan will not lead to increased medical risks,” the two companies said in a statement.

Takeda Pharmaceuticals stated in a joint statement with Moderna: “The rare stainless steel particles in the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine will not pose an undue risk to patient safety, nor will it adversely affect the benefit/risk status of the product. At the end of August. Moderna’s Partner Takeda distributes the vaccine in Japan.

At the same time, Moderna and Takeda stated that they will recall multiple batches of vaccines due to the presence of pollutants. It is not clear whether Pfizer will initiate a recall.

Japan’s minister in charge of vaccination campaign Taro Kono told reporters on Friday that about 500,000 people had been vaccinated with three batches of the suspended Moderna vaccine. Moderna stated that it was unable to confirm how many doses were dispensed from the batch.

COVID-19 is a disease caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus.
