The White House’s official Twitter account posted false COVID-19 information on Thursday, falsely claiming that “no vaccine was available” when President Biden took office in January 2021.
“When President Biden took office, millions were unemployed and there was no vaccine available,” Verified account Tweeted It reached 7 million followers on Thursday.
“In the last 15 months, the economy has made an 8.3″ [million] Jobs and unemployment rate at 3.6% – the sharpest drop in unemployment to begin a presidential term,” the tweet concluded.
But eagle-eyed critics were quick to point out that 79-year-old Biden actually received his first dose of the vaccine in December 2020 — a month before he moved to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
A Twitter user also shared a picture of a masked Biden slapping.
“Today, I got the COVID-19 vaccine,” read the president original tweet From December 21, 2020. “Thank you – to the scientists and researchers working tirelessly to make this possible. We owe you a great debt. And to the American people – know that there is nothing to worry about. When the vaccine becomes available, I urge you to take it.”
Weeks later, on January 13, 2021, the official White House account Shared 33-second video of then-president-elect Biden Getting their second dose of the vaccine “because they trust scientists.”
“Our administration is committed to doing everything possible to ensure that every American has all the information they need to be vaccinated,” the Post concluded.
Another tweet said that there was no increase in the White House claim.
“No Vaccine Available? What Was President-Elect Biden Injected With? Sugar Water?” Read the indicated answer. “And [it] Was it his *second* shot! Maybe check out your own tweets?”
Meanwhile, another commenter accused the Biden administration of rewriting history.
