The White House Office of Science and Technology has released a document outlining the current administration’s strategic priorities for encouraging public-private partnerships and for government-wide cooperation as part of efforts to expand US leadership in aeronautics.
The document ‘National Aeronautical Science and Technology Priorities’ outlines three strategic priorities for the US government: achieving sustainable aviation, transforming the national air transport system, and promoting connectivity and speed.
To advance the first plan, the current administration will support the development of new aircraft and engine technologies and support the domestic production and use of sustainable food. The US government will seek to modernize the National Aerospace Standards (NAS) by prioritizing the effort of the Generation Air Transportation System or NextGen Program of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and promoting the integration of new aeronautical systems such as small drones and advanced vehicles. air mobility
The government will also support research and development work on hypersonic flight systems to promote connectivity and speed.
The document also lists seven principles that seek to establish the three former branches of the US government. These principles consult salvation; protecting the environment; promote global economic competitiveness; accelerate innovation; strengthen national security, increase the workforce; and prioritize equitable air transportation access.
“America’s leadership in aviation enterprises has long stolen a successful economy and national security. From next-generation fuels to design advances and aviation infrastructure to aircraft growth, the aeronautical community is poised for disruption and transformation. As such, continued investment in the state’s aeronautical research and development (R&D ) is critical to securing the continued vitality of this important sector,” White Cities Report.
