In this sense, baking soda is ideal for fighting stomach disorders, such as refluxThis has been shown in different studies. It is remarkable to attribute this to the alkaline and antacid properties of this substance so well known to the world.
“Baking soda has antacid and alkaline properties that can help relieve symptoms of stinging and burning in the chest and throat. It is a product that has hardly any side effects and whose moderate consumption poses no risk. If we decide to drink it, we usually take small grams of coffee dissolved in a glass of water, stirring it well until the effervescence disappears”, reports the digital platform La Razón.
What is reflux?
Gastroesophageal reflux is a condition that occurs when stomach acid frequently flows into the esophagus, the tube that connects the mouth to the stomach. This backflow of acid, such as acid reflux, can severely irritate the lining of the esophagus.

It is also appropriate to emphasize that gastroesophageal reflux disease occurs when the contents of the stomach, acidic or non-acidic, frequently flow back into the esophagus.
Finally, it should be noted that during the process of swallowing there is a ring of muscles called the lower esophageal sphincter, which relaxes to allow food and liquid to pass into the stomach, and closes again.
