Vice President Election 2022: In West Bengal, there is doubt about who will support the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the Vice Presidential election. It is believed that TMC will clarify its stand on the Vice Presidential candidate today. TMC chief Mamata Banerjee has called a meeting of party MPs at her Kalighat home at 4 pm today. The decision regarding the Vice Presidential election will be taken in the meeting.
It is noteworthy that NCP President Sharad Pawar had announced Margaret Alva as the joint Vice Presidential candidate from 17 opposition parties. On which TMC had said that it would clear its stand on July 21. While the opposition has put Margaret Alva on one side, the NDA has nominated West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar as its candidate.
