Hyundai released a teaser campaign for a new mini SUV for emerging markets with everything to replace the Atos.
The Korean manufacturer could introduce a new subcompact SUV in the second half of this year, called the Hyundai Exter, for emerging markets. A series of official previews have revealed some of its exterior design features.
Due to its form factor and other known figures regarding dimensions, it is a model that will fit into the niche left by the Hyundai Atos years ago in case it is sold in South America and especially in the Colombian market. The competition is also clear.
After customizing the SUV elements, as per the current trends, the new Exeter will be a good competitor to the likes of Renault Kwid, Suzuki S-Presso and even the next competitor to come in the country, the Citroen C3. Still there are many possibilities.

The progress of the brand allows us to see that the new Hyundai exterior will have a body with very square lines, which are clearly visible in the front grille and bumper. The main headlights feature the “H” LED light signature and the DRLs have a square look.
As per the sketches, the wheel arches, in the same body colour, are quite prominent and the blacked out pillars of the vehicle stand out, as well as the functional roof bars. A reference from Hyundai in this regard is that it will be an “adventure car”.
On the technical and mechanical aspects, it is believed to be built on the brand’s K1 platform, which underpins the Hyundai i10, for example. And regarding the propulsion proposal, there should be a 1.2-liter gasoline engine and a power of 82 hp.
This won’t be the only powertrain available for the Exeter, as for more power, customers can opt for a 1.0-litre turbo gasoline engine that will make up to 99 hp. Power will always be sent to the front wheels via a manual or automatic gearbox.
