Winds Increase, Heighten Fire Danger in Northern California

Sunshine is expected Saturday with northerly winds picking up around noon. The western side of the valley will see the strongest conditions where winds can reach 35mph+. Sacramento will likely see gusts near 30mph. Winds will remain strong through this evening. There is a high fire risk especially in the western part of the valley and the Coastal range until this evening. Winds will remain gusty early Sunday morning on the west side of the valley and west slope of the Sierra but will continue to decrease throughout the day. Sacramento towards the San Joaquin valley will see less wind on Sunday. Dry and sunny conditions are expected Sunday with highs in the low to mid 70s. Monday and Halloween look dry with sun and some clouds and highs in the 70s
