Winter’s thaw comes, but mighty winds stirred

February 2022 marks the beginning of winter in Uttar Pradesh – with minimum temperatures likely to remain in the mid-30s till Tuesday. But with accelerated warming, wind speeds intensify further south over Canada’s Prairie Clipper system. Gusts can be up to 30 to 50 mph, creating road hazards in the form of drifting snow (low visibility). Light snowfall up to 1″ is expected mainly from Tuesday’s system. Then, with the transition to lake effect snow from Wednesday through Thursday, an additional 2″ or more of snow is possible for the Northwest Wind Belt locations of the Copper Country and eastern UP.
