Theme and setup menus are nothing new. Now there’s another one coming aboard a ship, with Disney at the center and characters from Marvel Studios joining young and old in the gastronomic experience. Specifically, these Worlds of Marvel are part of the leisure and entertainment offer that the giant Walt Disney offers on its Disney Cruise Lines (not everything is an amusement park and not everything is the release of films in the cinema).
Currently, this superheroic restaurant will only be available on the new cruise ship, the Disney Treasure. And we still have to wait, the ship will not sail the seas until the end of next year, in 2024 (December 21). Menu offerings are known to be influenced by the various franchises as well, Spiderman’s presence is confirmed and the voyage will take seven nights from Florida to the Caribbean (reservations are open now).
wonderful restoration background
The Disney Treasure takes over the baton from the Disney Wish, a previous ship that hosted his meeting with Marvel Studios. Specifically it was with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (opened in 2023) featuring Pym technology, Wakandan-inspired chops and Sokovian chicken. Obviously things worked out well as it is now being implemented again with the intention of making it permanent.
This isn’t the first official attempt to create a restaurant based on Marvel comics, perhaps the best known being the late Marvel Mania (1998-1999). A proposal born out of the agreement between Marvel itself and Planet Hollywood, which eventually went away but looked pretty good. The 7,500-square-foot facilities (at Universal Studios in Los Angeles) housed well-known pieces such as Thor’s helmet, Doctor Doom’s mask, and many others. Almost like stepping into the museum of old Rick Jones from Future Imperfect.
