The crime of Karen Moreno Pernía generates an impact in Venezuela. This is a 25-year-old woman who has been living in Chile for five months.
According to those close to her, the nurse migrated to the country in search of better job opportunities that would allow her to help her family.
Although the professional was in constant contact with those close to him, on April 27 everything changed: the PDI reported the murder by alleged strangulation in the commune of Sagrada Familia, in the Maule Region.

And although the police pointed to an alleged feminicide, her family clarified that the accused – also Venezuelan – was a co-worker who became obsessed with her.
“At that time he did not have any relationship, because he focused on work to go forward. In fact, after being married for four years, he divorced amicably, and his ex-partner lives in Chile, but in another province. It has nothing to do with reality,” they explained to La Nación.

María Escalante, one of Karen’s friends, shared some audio that would confirm this version.
In these files, the young nurse revealed the harassment of the subject, which even caused “problems living together” for him in the house on the property that he was assigned to live in and where the crime was finally committed.
“It invaded my privacy, my space. The atmosphere became ugly and I didn’t like it,” Karen said in a voice note.
“About the boy, I made it clear, I told him: ‘Look, you and I will not be anything, neither we will nor will we at any time, record that, because I am not ready to have a partner, much less like you’. I don’t like that they are repressing me on these things, telling me things that are not important, “said the young woman in another audio.
When asked about her friend, María told the aforementioned medium that “Karen was a very sweet, very sensitive and charismatic woman. He was always smiling. I remember him with his mane of long, curly hair. Besides being an extraordinary woman, she was a good student. Very dedicated, very determined, very sure of himself. He was not afraid of new challenges: he always wanted to show himself what he could do”.
