Imserso flights for the 2023-2024 season go on sale this Thursday in Aragón, Asturias, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Galicia, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, La Rioja, Navarra, Basque Country and Ceuta. Starting next Saturday, the 28th, reservations can be made in Andalusia, Cantabria, Castilla y León, Valencian Community, Extremadura, Madrid, Melilla and Murcia. This year Imserso offers 886,269 places -70,000 more than the previous edition, after the final award of three lots in the contest to Ávoris Corporación Empresarial-, of which half (443,887 places) are for tourism on the peninsular coast; 25.96% (230,039) is allocated to coastal tourism on the island, and 23.96% (212,343) is reserved for getaway tourism, such as cultural circuits, nature tourism, provincial capitals, Ceuta and Melilla and cities.
Starting November 2, the possibility to book unsold flights from any province is open. In addition, since last October 4, letters have been sent to confirm accreditation where you can reserve trips for the Social Tourism competition for the next season. Therefore, about 200,000 letters will be sent every day, reaching 2,697,264 letters that will reach 4,219,157 beneficiaries this month of October. Therefore, users can book their trip for peninsular coast, island coast or getaway tourism destinations through the Social Tourism (Avoris) website, with their ID and accreditation code or at any travel agencies.
Prices according to destination
Prices this time vary depending on the destination and the number of nights (between 3 and 9) and from 124 euros and 435 euros, including accommodation, full board and transportation. On the peninsular coast lot, staying in Andalusia, Catalonia, Murcia and the Valencian Community with transportation has a price of 290.07 euros for nine nights and 228.93 euros for seven nights. If transportation is not included, nine nights are offered for 253.65 euros and seven nights for 210.72 euros.
For the islands, trips to the Balearic Islands with transportation are 331.49 euros and 267.63 euros for a stay of nine and seven nights, respectively, while without transportation the price is 253.77 euros and 210.47 euros. As for the Canary Islands, the stay of nine nights with transportation costs 435.95 euros and those of seven, 355.30 euros. Without transportation, the trip to the island includes a price of 253.65 euros and 210.39 euros, respectively.
For the last lot, getaway tourism, the prices are as follows: Cultural circuits (five nights and 293.16 euros), nature tourism (four nights and 286.82 euros), provincial capitals (three nights and 124.68 euros ) and Ceuta or Melilla (four nights and 286.82 euros).
Provincial quota reservations
According to the Institute for the Elderly, each province is assigned a number of trips proportional to the number of elderly people registered. In the first days of the sale (from October 26 to 31, 2023), applicants can only reserve flights from those in their quota per province, in such a way that the sale is moved to avoid possible overloading of the reservation center and thus guarantee proper movement.
Throughout the month of October, people accredited to participate in the trips received their accreditation letter at their homes, indicating from which day of the month they can book the trips for the next season. This letter of accreditation includes a four-digit Password that allows the person holding it to make their reservation electronically through the reservation center of the successful bidder company; In the case of making reservations with travel agencies that cooperate with the program, it is only necessary to bring the National Identity Document. In total, almost 2.7 million letters were sent by Imserso this month which reached 4.2 million beneficiaries. On November 6, the database will be reopened to receive new applications; From that date until the end of the season it will remain open.
A price increase of 7.5%
The new program includes a price increase of 7.5%, with a 14% higher budget, about 300 million, and other new features. In addition, the duration of the contract extends between September 1, 2023 and August 31, 2024. Of the three lots that make up the program, the first has 443,887 places; while those on the coast of the island have 230,039; and number 3, for getaway tourism and European origin, with 212,343 places. As for the price of each lot, it comes to 32.08 million euros, 24.01 million euros and 15.52 million euros, respectively.
In addition, an increase of 70,000 places is set for lot 3, which will reach 212,343 places, while lot 1 (443,887) and 2 (230,039) keep their current numbers. Likewise, Imserso tours include all the Spanish provinces, from 18 to 52 with tourism more adapted to the preferences of the elderly today, with 10 new cultural circuits, 19 new nature routes (Sierra Nevada, the Cañón del Río Lobos, etc. ) and an increase in areas with rooms for single use (from 2% to 10%).
