It’s been a big week for rapper Young Thug, releasing a new album, appearing on Saturday Night Live and suing his apartment manager for the disappearance of his bag, which he estimates at more than $ 1 million.
Young Thug – real name Jeffrey Williams – has filed a lawsuit in County Gwinnett, Georgia over a missing Louis Vuitton bag on November 1, 2020.
The court document says that on his way back from a trip to Los Angeles that evening, Young Thug parked his Lamborghini in the secure garage of his Trace building in the Midtown area of Atlanta. He unloaded the car and went to his apartment, but left a Vuitton leather bag next to the car.
Another resident reported the bag to the concierge on duty; she took it back and informed Young Thug that it would be kept for him at the office. The concierge put a note on the bag, in which she said that it should not be transferred to anyone without her consent, but another employee allegedly “transferred the property to an unknown person.”
The complaint against the building’s management said the bag itself was valued at approximately $ 2,500 and contained:
- 40,000 USD in US currency
- The diamond-encrusted watch costs approximately $ 57,000.
- A chain with embedded diamonds worth about $ 37,000, and
- “A hard drive containing approximately 200 unreleased Young Thug songs worth at least $ 1,000,000.”
Young Bandit is demanding a jury trial and is trying to recover “the full current value of his lost property in an amount that will be proven in court.”
On Friday, the 30-year-old rapper released his second studio album, Punk. The next evening he performed on SNL with Ganna, Nate Ruess and Travis Barker.
Young Thug won a Grammy Award for Song of the Year 2019 as co-author of Childish Gambino’s This is America. Last year, Havana, on which he worked with Camila Cabello, won several awards, including the American Music Award for Favorite Pop / Rock Song.
